The “Wonsley Vision” Is Upside Down

“Wonsley's Vision” for Ward 2 is Driven by a Far-Left Agenda

Robin Wonsley calls her far-left agenda a bold vision. But many voters call it the “Wonsley Vision”—an upside-down ideology driven by Democratic Socialism that blinds her from the practical solutions our city needs.

Instead of focusing on the basics—public safety, good jobs, affordable living—Wonsley’s agenda puts ideology first and people last.

  • Crime is up: She voted against more safety patrols and supports abolishing the police. (1, 2, 3)
  • Public safety is at risk: She pushes to end cash bail, letting dangerous criminals back on the streets. (4)
  • Costs are rising: She supports new property tax levies that hit homeowners and renters already struggling. (5)
  • Jobs are threatened: Her policies drive businesses out, from Lyft and Uber drivers to local small businesses. (7, 8)

This is not progress. It’s reckless. And it’s out of step with Ward 2 voters.

Anti-Police, Pro-Criminal

With Wonsley Vision, criminals get a holiday from due process—no cash bail, no problem. (13)

Wonsley actively participating in “Defund MPD” rallies to co-founding a neighborhood police abolitionist group12, Wonsley has made her position clear: she wants to dismantle the Minneapolis Police Department. She’s voted against funding for additional patrols, cameras, and even DOJ grants to recruit officers. (8, 9, 10, 11)

She has gone so far as to claim that the Thin Blue Line is an “ideology of violent exclusion” and has used the hashtag #F12—a phrase meaning “F*** the police.” (12)

Meanwhile, Minneapolis families are left to deal with rising crime.

Higher Taxes, Struggling Families

In 2023, Wonsley supported reinstating a $12 million annual property tax levy that would hit the average Minneapolis homeowner with higher bills. For families already struggling with housing costs, this makes stability even further out of reach. (5)

We Can Do Better for Ward 2

Vote for Shelley Madore for City Council for Ward 2

On November 4th, Ward 2 voters will have a choice.

  • A choice between ideology and practicality.
  • A choice between unsafe streets and safe neighborhoods.
  • A choice between rising costs and affordable living.

We Can Do Better for Ward 2.  Vote Shelley Madore for City Council.

Ward 2 Needs the Basics

Ward 2 voters deserve leadership that puts residents first—not far-left ideology. What we need is simple:

  • Safe neighborhoods: Fund public safety, support police, and keep criminals off our streets.
  • Good paying jobs: Support small businesses and attract new employers.
  • Affordable living: Keep property taxes under control and prioritize families.
  • Practical progress: Focus on results, not slogans.

The “Wonsley Vision” ignores these basics. Minneapolis deserves leaders who will build partnerships, deliver common-sense solutions, and bring our neighborhoods together.
